Vosueh's Wikipedia

Garmr is a hellhound demon who reaps souls into hell. When Braxton, an alien known in folklore as the Flatwoods Monster, arrives to Earth with the intention of living here and learning the culture, Garmr quickly falls in love with his innocent and purehearted nature, determined to shield him from the more unfavorable sides of Earth.

He is in a long-term committed relationship with Braxton, and eventually has a child with him that they both raise.

Appearance

Garmr appears as a tall man with tan skin, buff frame, heavy body hair, and amber eyes lacking pupils. He has two piercings on each ear, as well as two snake bite lip piercings. Around his neck are two large tattooed chain loops. The top of his left ear is clipped off with jagged edges. His nails are thicker than a human's, and dark brown like a canine's. He purposely cuts them sharp.

His hair is dark brown at the roots, but fades into gold. He keeps his hair in a messy out-grown cut, often with stray pieces sticking out.

In his hellhound form, he resembles a shepard-like dog with tall erect ears (identical to the canine ears in his human form), with the same piercings on his ears and lips. His fur retains the same coloration pattern as his hair when human.

Garmr in his hellhound form

As like all hellhounds, his "human" appearance include dog ears and a tail.

Typically, he wears only jersey shorts or sweats, but occasionally will throw on a tank top or t-shirt to leave the house.

Personality

Generally stand-offish and not very warm to strangers, Garmr has a lot of hatred for the evils of humanity, which has extended to being a general dislike of humans entirely. While he does his job well and effectively, it gets to him from time to time, making him guilty and depressed. Often, he will question how good of a person he himself is, and it frequently affects his mental health.

Due to the canine side of him, he has a high libido, and is easily attracted to most anyone when he’s not in a relationship, but stays very loyal when he does have one. However, unlike his sexual attraction, it is a much higher bar to meet his romantic requirements, leading him to identify as aromantic for a while. It was difficult for him to see himself being happy with someone long-term, since he judges morality so heavy in his heart; however, seeing how Braxton was practically untouched by the evils of humanity, it quickly changed his whole outlook on love.

He is in a romantic relationship (unmarried, but long term) with Braxton, and had his child, Gnípa, with him. Very affectionate and tender with his family, but less likely to be that expressive around others. Garmr is a very soft man when it comes to his loved ones, and often refers to his family with pet names, and frequently enjoys physical embraces and gushing over them.

He is rather closed off and guarded around people he’s not close with. Garmr has a reputation among hellhounds for being a downer that isn’t very fun to be around, although most are still on good terms with him, and most were casual sexual partners with him at some point. They don’t tell him, but they sometimes try to avoid him or not invite him out if they don’t want to deal with him getting mopey or ruining the mood. Although, his demeanor markedly improved after entering a relationship with Braxton.

Being created by Death to be the gatekeeper of the gates of hell, he is infused with the energy of guardianship to achieve that. After becoming too depressed as gatekeeper, he retired into a regular hellhound role, although still has that intense urge to be protective. Those feelings are instead now directed at his partner and child, who he stresses over to make sure they’re happy and shielded from the evils of the world.

  • The narrative of Garmr’s life outstretches over many written stories at various points in the timeline.
  • There are five major arcs in the timeline all stories fall under, and below are the narrative summaries from his standpoint.

Pre-Arc I: Before Braxton Met Garmr

This section is hidden by default.

Garmr’s soul was created by Death around 12,500 years ago, intending him to be a hellhound reaper with the job of guarding the gates of hell.

For the first few thousand years of his existence, he did this without fail, yet his mental health gradually deteriorated as he was constantly around and witnessed the worst of humanity who have died. Thus, he eventually requested reassignment from Death, and has been granted a typical hellhound role that he still has to this day.

Regardless, his outlook on humanity failed to rise higher; he reaped the runaway souls trying to escape damnation, and he began to bear witness to the sins and crimes the living often committed against one another.

Trying to find solace despite his aggravating depression, he fell in love hard and fast with various humans and monsters throughout the centuries, with each relationship growing fewer and further between, never seeming to find someone he truly thought was a good person.

Roughly a century before meeting Braxton, he had attempted once more to make a relationship work with a fellow hellhound named Cù-Sìth. She lived in the Scottish highlands apart from humanity, and he thought maybe the lack of societal influence and sin would render her better. Yet, after a few years of trying to look past the inevitable tidbits of malice he could identify in her otherwise cheery and sweet demeanor, he broke up with her. Despite her kindness, she personally and deeply enjoyed her job reaping sinners who deserve it, much to Garmr’s disturbance.

Reidentifying as an aromantic, Garmr accepted wholeheartedly that it was impossible for him to ever happily be with anyone on this planet, and grew certain of the belief that every person holds inherit malice inside them to some degree.

During these isolating decades, he kept close ties with fellow hellhounds, and regularly slept around with them in the belief that sex would be enough to quell his yearn for intimacy and connection. All his dearest friends overlapped into friends-with-benefits at one point or another; the Cereberus (Aconite, Belladonna, and Oleander), Cù-Sìth, and Dire.

Yet there was no one on Earth that was clean of sin and hatred, thus there was no one on Earth that Garmr could ever be happy with.

Inadvertently, he’d be correct, because when he finally found someone that reawakened romantic interest from him, they weren’t from Earth.

Instead, Braxton came from space.

Arc I: Relationship between Braxton & Garmr

This section is hidden by default.

After a difficult soul had evaded him in the dense woods outside the town of Flatwoods, Garmr ran into Braxton, finding him to be a previously unofficial cryptid that was believed in the cryptid world to have not been real. In spite of this assumption, Braxton was indeed very real, and very lost and aimless on Earth, yet enthusiastic and passionate about learning everything about it.

Pitying him, Garmr tried his best to convince him to leave.

  • Garmr's favorite color is red.
  • Garmr seldom cuts off his claws. The longest period of time his nails were cut blunt was when Gnípa was young, as he handled them a lot as a child.
