The temperature drops once more, 50 degrees is reduced to 20. Fruits for sale in the market seem to spoil, despite most being stored properly.

Lindor shopping for herbs under the guise of 'Rodnil'

Lindor is having a very confusing day, something big has changed. Their heart keeps racing, that’s never happened before. Suddenly, the bite of the cold air burns their lungs, it feels suffocating, it shouldn’t be like this. And their charge is oddly… tolerable to watch over, in fact they want to make sure not to take their eyes off them.

All these symptoms must have a rational explanation.

Being the medical professional that they are, they diagnosed themself as suffering from the start of a panic attack, all thanks to Mawne putting them out of business. It’s the only explanation for why they would feel so physically and emotionally perturbed. The walls felt like they were closing in, but they had no reason to even get out of the house.

What’s the point of setting up in the market if everyone is going to be healthy and fine?

Not only that, but Lindor still needs to stay on the down low. Mawne may be bedridden, but he seems to have eyes in the walls at this point.

Casting Disguise Self, they ventured out of Smoke’s house as Rodnil, a newcomer to town who just got here yesterday. Outwardly, they have to try and make their whereabouts unknown, lest Mawne sics the guard on them. Their paranoia is through the roof, and they keep feeling their heart pound and race in a way it's never before.

As Rodnil, they decided to go to the various markets in town, searching for any alchemic herbs they could tinker with. No better time to work on potion-making than now, whilst there was literally no doctoring to be done in town. They stopped to also collect as many Snowblossoms as they still could, as well as trying to find any potion shops in town to get their hands on more specialty ingredients.

On the way back to Smoke’s home, they also tried to see if there’s any discount fruit being sold for spoiling early. Waste not, want not.

The 2nd

A knife in the night! A woman is murdered outside of the Greenwoode Estate, she is identified as Mary Anne Greene. A former member of their community.

As soon as they heard of the murder, their heart was pounding again-- is this supposed to be happening so much? How could someone be murdered in the city so soon after a tragedy that killed dozens happened only a few days prior?

Once again under the guise of Rodnil, they left Smoke’s house again to approach the scene of the murder outside of the Greenwoode Estate, seeing if they can catch any rumors or see anything out of the ordinary.

Lindor working on making more Frost-B-Here
Dragons Overhead! A Golden-Dragon returns to the garden-district Zoo, though escapes the zoo for a quick detour into the Dragonwood!

They are going to try to make more Frost-B-Here potions, seeing if using their seen servant can help cut down on the time it takes.

If they were able to buy any herbs on the 1st, they would start the rendering process, soaking some of them in high-proof alcohol to eventually render an extract of some kind.

[I assume a minimum of 1 Frost-B-Here will be able to be created? Maybe two with help?]

The 4th

High Market offers a sale on ranged weapons, and the ammunition fired from them! With basic magical arrows, and crossbow bolts being sold for 50gp for 20! Bows, arrows, crossbows of all sorts, and bolts are all being sold for half market cost.

Hearing there is a high market sale, they make their way to the market as Rodnil, but are not intrigued by any of the weapons.

They search for any book seller, wanting to see if there’s anything they could purchase and read to learn more about the local flora. Alchemy books, potion recipes, or any herbalist guides. They would also like to buy a blank journal.

[I’m hoping they can buy some of the things they are looking for?]

The 5th

High Market offers a sale on light armors! Enchanted +1 armors are selling for a mere 200 gold pieces plus the cost of the standard armor!

Another sale is happening in the high market, but Lindor doesn’t have faith in finding anything good there after all their searching this week.

They instead skim other markets and shops, still hunting for ingredients or books.

If they are unable to find anything noteworthy by noon, they will venture outside of Drakeguard to forage until dusk.

[Let me know if they are able to obtain anything]

Lance on the right, Ambi on the left.
A play is put on, The River's Edge, it is a tense thriller, about what can happen by stepping beyond the banks you know as home, and into a wider world. If it wasn't about a bear it would be genuinely moving.

Yesterday when they were out chasing after the group who had ventured to kill the owlbear, their robes snagged on a thornbush. Today, they noticed the section that snagged was hanging on by a thread— a strange patch of some kind, they thought it was originally a pocket that they just never used.

They carefully cut the remaining seam barely hanging on, and suddenly two dogs manifested in front of them, and Lindor blinked in bafflement.

Oh! Right, the Robe of Useful Items! They had completely forgotten they’ve been wearing it this whole time, it’s been so long.

They identified a patch of gems, and peel that one off too.

Unfortunately, seems like they have to go out to the markets yet again, to try and sell most of their gems and pick up some supplies for their two new mastiffs— Ambi, a fluffy indigo dog with a sharp nose, and Lance, a leaner white and auburn one with a caring demeanor.

By the end of the day, the two new pups will be fed like royalty, each napping on a comfy plush bed, and both sporting named collars. Lance’s is fitted with a barrel bearing a healer’s cross, and Lindor pours 3 health potions into the reservoir.

[Need to know how much collars and beds will be, I will deduct 6sp to feed them the remaining week, and will add 450gp for selling the gems]

Ruby Morphia
An Al-Khirian century camps 3 miles away from the walls of Drakeguard. Their camp visible from the walls.

Spending the day indoors, Lindor spends part of the day training Lance. They think Lance had the makings of a good medical assistant, and can help administer potions out on the field.

Ambi is given the scent of Snowblossoms, and sent out to retrieve some.

Around noon, they’ll start going through any reading material they were able to obtain.

The rest of the day is spent studying Bloodroot Lily, and they try to see how long it takes to augment a Morphia Tonic with it, once again leveraging assistance from the seen servant.

Linder calls the result Ruby Morphia, as the roots leech lurid color into the once milky potion.

The 10th

News from the wider world is spread through Drakeguard.

They will spend the entire day working on their alchemy, reading what they can and experimenting with what they got.

After searching for more alchemy resources, they become galvanized to begin recording their own herbalism knowledge and alchemy experiments.

Lindor illustrates a page in their new journal about Snowblossoms and Bloodroot Lily, and all they have learned about them. They also record the recipe for Frost-B-Here and Ruby Morphine, step-by-step.
